This model cycling course has been made specially
available for protecting the natural environment
surrounding the Imperial Palace and providing
a place for people to exercise in the city.

The course is made available every Sunday by closing off the road in front of the Imperial Palace. This protects the precious natural environment of the Imperial Palace surrounded by its moat and pine trees in the midst of the city and offers a place for families to come and exercise.

Cycling Course

About 3 km round-trip from Uchibori-dori, Iwaidabashi to Hirakawa gateway.

Tandem Bicycles Allowed General Information
- Within the course you must obey traffic rules and follow the street markings, traffic signals, and traffic signs.
- You can bring your own bicycle.
- There is an area for small children.
- Bicycle rentals available.
Tandem bicycles which can only be ridden in specially designated areas have been allowed on the Palace Cycling Course since March 1996. The visually impaired can take this opportunity to ride with a course official. Mon-Fri@10:00-17:00

Using Rental Bicycles

Free 10:00 to 15:00

Fill in the necessary information on the Bicycle Rental Application at the Rental Office and submit it.

Rentals can only be used on the designated course.

Types of Rentals How to Return
New models, mountain bikes, racing bikes, pleasure cycles, mini cycles, kids bikes, cycles for infants (when accompanied by parent), and tandem bikes. Bikes must be returned to an official at the Rental Office by the person who rented it or their guardian.
