| This is an individual timed event that has been held extensively for countless years in Great Britain, primarily by cycling clubs. In the past, there were 160 km and 12 hour races, but now they are held as one event in stage races tournaments. Individually held time-trial races are now fairly rare. |

| At the referee's signal, riders supported by holders are released one by one at two-minute intervals. | This is normally a level course with no sharp corners. | In the Tour de France, there are sometimes time-trial races where a 1,500 meter mountain is challenged. |
